Christmas in Lapland

The chance for a privileged few to come to Lapland in search of Father Christmas, his reindeer and elves. This tour is where dreams can become a reality. Children will encounter magical moments as they seek out Father Christmas. There'll be the chance to go sledging, enjoy reindeer and husky rides and trips by motorised snow scooters. Although Santa has been very busy during December supervising the despatch of toys worldwide he looks forward to meeting all the children who have made the journey to see him in his Lapland home.

Day 1 in Lapland (23rd December)

Following your arrival in Lapland one transfers to Luosto where you will be accommodated in your log cabin or hotel. Here you will receive your hired snow suits and boots, then while away the evening with some tobogganing or enjoy a drink in the bar before dinner.

Day 2 in Lapland (24th December)

Will today be the day you find Santa?  Your adventure is planned for today using a combination of skidoo, husky dogs and reindeer. It is to be hoped that Donner and Blitzen will give your scouts advice as to Santa's location but fear not, if you do not find him today you are sure to track him down on Christmas day when he returns from his world-wide task.

Lunch will be taken at an outside venue. This evening, back at Luosto a delicious Finnish Christmas buffet dinner awaits.

Day 3 in Lapland (Christmas Day)

An open air Christmas Church service will be held at Luosto early in the morning illuminated by ice lanterns and log torches. After the service you will have a hearty breakfast before continuing your search for Santa.

This will be a unique chance for children to receive a present and to meet Santa on Christmas day, the very day by tradition that he delivers gifts to all homes throughout the land. Skidoos, reindeer and huskies will once again be used and an outside lunch provided in an appropriate location. Tonight you will enjoy a typical Festive spread. The meal is enhanced with traditional favourites such as mince pies and Christmas pudding.

Day 4 in Lapland (26th December)

A relaxing day is planned for today. If you would like to go skiing, equipment for slalom or cross country skiing will be available (local charges apply) or visit a nearby activity centre where a range of activities will be provided in a very relaxed manner. Activities here will include skidoo slalom competitions and tobogganing. Or simply enjoy the spa and swimming pool facilities at the Luostotunturi Hotel (local charges apply to those staying in cabins).

Lunch will be served at the activity centre. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner recounting the day's experiences to your new-found friends.

Day 5 in Lapland (27th December)

A choice of activities are offered for your final morning here in Luosto. Join in the mini snow games where you can try your hand at our tug of war competition, or simply enjoy the pleasure of tobogganing, or relax and enjoy the resort facilities.

Lunch will be taken in Luosto and there will be the opportunity to buy some souvenirs of Lapland before transferring back for your return flight to the United Kingdom.

Breakfast and evening meals are taken either in the main log cabin restaurant or at the Hotel Luostotunturi.

Magical Effects

In Lapland, where all things are possible with the assistance of Santa's elves; special magical effects are created in Luosto.  Here, Santa has the magical ability to fade away and children and adults alike will be captivated as their dreams of meeting the real Santa come true, Arctic weather conditions permitting.

Fun for all

Children's entertainment is available, with details of each days programme available locally.  The professional children's entertainers perform in the late afternoon/evenings except for arrival and departure days.  Parents can join in the fun, or may take this opportunity to relax in the hotel.  Musical entertainment will be available for adults during the evening. 

Souvenir CD

Throughout your stay, you and your children will have the opportunity to sing along to our own very special song "In search of Santa and his Elves". As a lasting memory you will be provided with one CD per booking form on departure from Lapland.

A special souvenir DVD will be provided to include general footage of Lapland plus 1 or 2 clips of your party meeting Santa.
