Legends 4 day Short Break to Lapland

The Legends short break is based in northern Lapland in an area of pristine snowscapes, the perfect location for winter activities. Elves and reindeer are known to have been seen in this area of Lapland so this is a good place to start your search for Santa Claus.

You will venture out into the snowy forest, hoping to find a traditional log cabin known to be Santa's hideaway. If you and your family are lucky enough to find the elusive old man, you will have the chance for a private meeting in his cabin, where Santa is sure to have time to talk to each child individually about their Christmas wishes.

The thrill of a husky safari.... A team of huskies awaits and you will enjoy an exhilarating ride into the picturesque surroundiings as these marvellous animals pull our sledge through five kilometres of unforgettable scenery.

An exhilarating snowmobile safari.... The fastest of your included safaris is the snowmobile adventure. You will experience a one and a half hour safari on these remarkable machines, including instruction and stoppages. Adults will have the chance to drive their own (with passenger) Children will be pulled in a sleigh pulled by one of the snowmobiles.

Tobogganing and snow fun.... Of course, you will also get plenty of time to enjoy playing in the snow! There will be various activities including tobogganing, kick-sledging, children's snowmobiles and tandem skiing. On the last night of your stay a delicious festive three course meal will be served for you to enjoy with your new found friends.

Day 1 in Lapland

Arriving into Enontekio in the very North of Finnish Lapland, your transfer to the Davvi Lodge in Karesuando takes around an hour. After checking into your room, your representative will host a welcome meeting , providing you with an insight to the area and discussing the content of your trip in detail, and during dinner will be on hand to answer any further questions. Tonight, you can join an optional activity (extra cost), such as a snowmobile night safari, in search of the Northern Lights.

Day 2 in Lapland

After breakfast head out on your first safari, either a thrilling 40 minute husky dog safari or an exhilarating 1.5 hour snowmobile safari. Back at the hotel, a warming buffet lunch will be served. Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free of charge and kick sledges (deposit payable). Or, if you prefer, there is plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight! There's even an outdoor ice rink , with skates available for youngsters to hire. This evening, join a walk to the local church on the Swedish side of the border. It's the most northerly church in Sweden! After a short welcome by the local vicar and carol singing, head back to the hotel for a host's cocktail reception before dinner. After dinner an opportunity to join an optional night safari (extra cost).

Day 3 in Lapland

Today is the day you go in search of Santa! After breakfast, head into the grounds of the hotel, where a fun-filled day awaits! Supervised snow fun activities include snow shoe walking, snowball throwing contest, tandem skiing, children's skis, snowman building, tug-of-war, snow hockey and lots more! And youngsters can take a couple of laps around the supervised children's snowmobile track After lunch you can join in with the Christmas Crafts class and help get ready for the festive dinner. Then the moment you have been waiting for - board Santa's own reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas! During your private family meeting with Santa, each child has the chance to talk with him and receive a small gift from him. This evening, enjoy a Festive Dinner, complete with party hats and streamers. After dinner, an opportunity to join an optional excursion (extra cost).

Day 4 in Lapland

After breakfast, check out of your room ready for your last Santa safari, a 40 minute Husky dog safari or 1.5 hour snowmobile safari (whichever you did not join on Day 2). There should still be time for a final play in the snow or join one of the optional excursions (at extra cost). Lunch will be provided at the hotel before you depart for Enontekio, and the flight home.

Prices are based on the Davvi Hotel in a room for 2-3 for smaller families and 4-5 for larger families

Grandparents Discount - Anyone over the age of 60 will receive a reduction of £25 per person per night

Free optional excursions for children (for every adult booked on an optional excursion a child will be booked on the same trip for FREE)
