Lapland Wilderness Adventure 3 day trip to Lapland

Your Lapland adventure lies in the beautiful, rolling fell land of Western Lapland where the hills and forests typify a Lapland untouched for 1000 years. The setting of your hotel is alongside a sparkling river and is home to the largest group of huskies in Lapland.

Day 1 in Lapland

Depart from London Heathrow at 0730 on a Finnair scheduled flight to Kittila. Once in Lapland you will be transferred to your accommodation where you will be issued with your thermal suits and boots. There will be time for snow shoeing and tobogganing in the children’s winter playground before a welcome evening drink and Lappish buffet supper.

Day 2 in Lapland

After breakfast, it is time to meet Rudolph, Dancer, Prancer and their herders in their traditional ‘kota’. Everybody will be given reindeer driving lessons and receive their own Reindeer Driving Certificate as well as enjoying a traditional ‘Crossing the Arctic Circle’ ceremony.

Afterwards it’s time to meet Harriniva’s very own huskies: over 250 friendly Siberian huskies eager to pull your sleigh through the Arctic forest.  After a short explanation on how to handle a dog sleigh you will be taken on a short ride through the forest.

Lunch is taken at the hotel restaurant. Afterwards, each family travels individually by sleigh to meet Father Christmas in his home in the woods. Whilst waiting to meet him, everybody can help make tree decorations and bake gingerbread cookies or have fun outside tandem skiing, snow shoeing, tobogganing and even driving a mini snowmobile.

In the evening there will be a Traditional Finnish buffet dinner culminating in a visit by Father Christmas who will have a small present for everyone, after which there will be dancing with elves.

Day 3 in Lapland

After breakfast, there will be time for tobogganing and you will also get the chance to drive a snowmobile. You will then transfer to Kittila airport ready for your return flight home to London Heathrow.
