New Year Countdown 4 day trip to Lapland

Make this year's New Years Eve a memorable one!  On this trip, you can welcome in the New Year inside the Arctic Circle in magical Lapland.

Not forgetting, you can still particpate in the various activities that Lapland brings us, including a search for Santa, arctic safaris and various other snow activities.

This trip is based in the resorts of Hetta and Karesuando. 

30 December 

Your flight departs at around 10am and on arrival at Enontekio you are guided to your coach for a transfer to the resort of Hetta (transfer 10-15 minutes) or to Karesuando (transfer 1 hour), with collection of your suits and boots along the way. After checking in at your chosen accommodation, your representative will host a welcome meeting giving you all the information needed to make the most from your break and will be on hand during dinner to answer any further questions.  After dinner, a chance to join an optional activity (extra cost), such as a night safari, maybe encountering the Northern lights.

New Year's Eve

Hetta - After breakfast, head out on your first Santa safari, the one hour snowmobile adventure, followed by a warming lunch.  A supervised childrens' snowmobile ride will be available or, if you are lucky the chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer.  Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas.  During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa now that he is back from his annual journey around the world.  Each child receives a small gift.  This evening, enjoy a New Year Celebration at your hotel.

Karesuando - After breakfast, head out on your first Santa safari - a thrilling 40 minute Husky experience followed by lunch.  Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free.  There's even an outdoor ice rink, with skates for youngsters to hire.  Or there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball flight!  This evening, enjoy a walk to the local church, across the border.  After a short welcome from the vicar and carols, you return to the Davvi Arctic Lodge for a host's cocktail reception, followed by a special New Year Celebration.    

New Year's Day

Hetta - After breakfast, head out on your second included safari - a 40 minute Husky Experience followed by lunch.  Throughout the day you can enjoy snow activities outside, with toboggans available free.  Or there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!  Alternatively, you might like to join the indoor craft activities, or maybe try one of the optional excursions such as Reindeer Herding (extra cost).  This evening, enjoy a walk to the local church.  After a short welcome by the local vicar and carols, return to your hotel for dinner.  Later, why not join an optional safari (extra cost).

Karesuando - After breakfast, join your second included Santa safari - the one hour snowmobile adventure followed by lunch.   A supervised childrens' snowmobile ride will be available, or if you are lucky the chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer.  Then, the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas.  During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk with Santa now that he is back from his annual journey around the world.  Each child receives a small gift.  After dinner, relax, or join an optional night safari, perhaps in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights (extra cost). 

02 January

After breakfast, check out of your room. There should be time for a final play in the snow or an optional excursion (extra cost), or if staying in Karesuando take part in the Wilderness Treasure Hunt  After lunch, depart for Enontekio and your flight home. 

Prices are based on 2-3 sharing a room at the Hotel Jussantupa in Hetta
