Polar Magic 5 Day Short Break to Lapland

Deep inside the Arctic Circle, Hetta is in the far north of Finnish Lapland. This is the real Lapland and a perfect base from which to go in search of the real Father Christmas.

Some of the locals have reported seeing Santa's sleigh in this area, so each family will head into the woods in search of his secret log cabin. If you find Santa's cabin, it will be with some excitement, that you push open the door to discover Father Christmas himself, who will try to talk to each of your children individually..

A one and a half hour snowmobile safari will be an experience to remember. Adults will have the chance to drive their own. Children will be pulled in a sleigh pulled by one of the snowmobiles.

You will also enjoy the memorable experience of a 40 minute husky ride through the snow. The eager barking of the dogs as we arrive at the husky farm will indicate that they are ready to give you a swift ride!

On all our short breaks to Hetta, there is plenty of time to enjoy playing in the snow!  Take your pick from tobogganing, kick-sledging, childrens' snowmobiles and tandem skiing.  And of course there is always a snowball fight...!

There is a festive atmosphere for the gala dinner on the last evening of your stay. You will be served with a special three-course meal.

Day 1 in Lapland

Fly to Enontekio Airport and transfer to your chosen accommodation, stopping en-route to collect your thermal suits and boots.Refreshments will be available during your welcome meeting hosted by your representative, who will go through the content of your stay and introduce you to the area.  Tonight, you may like to join one of the optional activities (available at extra cost), such as a night safari, with the possibility of encountering the Northern lights.  .

Day 2 in Lapland

After Breakfast, a chance to find your bearings and start your activities.  During the morning, head out on your first Santa safari, either a thrilling 40 minute Husky dog safari or an exhilarating 1.5hr snowmobile safari.  When you get back, a warming lunch will be waiting, when you can swap stories about your morning.  Throughout the day you can enjoy  snow activities outside with toboggans available free of charge  and kick sledges (deposit payable).  Or, if you prefer, there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!  Alternatively, you might like to join the inside craft activities, or maybe try one of the optional excursions (extra cost), such as trying your hand at Reindeer Herding.  After dinner at your hotel, you can just relax or join an optional activity (at extra cost), perhaps riding a snowmobile or husky sled in search of the Northern lights.

Day 3 in Lapland

This morning you will board the coach for your second Santa safari - whichever you didn't do yesterday, either the Husky dog safari or Snowmobile safari.  As before, there are snow activities to enjoy, or you could decide to stay indoors and take part in craft activities.This evening, join in a walk to the local church, where after a short welcome by the local vicar you can enjoy carol singing before returning to your hotel for dinner.  This evening, another opportunity to join an optional activity (extra cost). 

Day 4 in Lapland

After breakfast, you once again board the coach for a day of supervised snow activities including snowshoe walking, a snowball throwing contest, tandem skiing and children's skis, snowman building, tug-of-war, snow hockey and lots more!  In addition, there will be a supervised children's snowmobile ride.  A hot lunch will be provided.  And now the moment you have been waiting for - time to set off on your search for Santa!  With your special boarding pass in hand, you set off by snowmobile, before joining Santa's own reindeer sleigh in search of Father Christmas!  During a private family visit with Santa, each child will have the chance to talk to Santa and receive a small gift.  This evening, enjoy a Festive dinner at the hotel.  

Day 5 in Lapland

After breakfast, check out of your hotel room, and board the coach to head off on one final adventure - a Wilderness Treasure Hunt!  Alternatively, you have time for one last play in the snow or to join an optional excursion (extra cost).  After a hot lunch, it's time to depart for Enontekio airport and the flight home.
