Polar Magic 5 Day Short Break to Lapland

Deep inside the Arctic Circle, Hetta is in the far north of Finnish Lapland. This is the real Lapland and a perfect base from which to go in search of the real Father Christmas.

Some of the locals have reported seeing Santa's sleigh in this area, so each family will head into the woods in search of his secret log cabin. If you find Santa's cabin, it will be with some excitement, that you push open the door to discover Father Christmas himself, when each child has the chance to talk to Santa and receive a small gift.

A one hour snowmobile safari will be an experience to remember. Adults will have the chance to drive their own. Children will be pulled in a sleigh behind one of the guides snowmobiles.

You will also enjoy the memorable experience of a 40 minute husky ride through the snow. The eager barking of the dogs as we arrive at the husky farm will indicate that they are ready to give you a swift ride!

On all our short breaks to Hetta, there is plenty of time to enjoy playing in the snow!  Take your pick from tobogganing, childrens' snowmobiles and kick sledging.  And of course there is always a snowball fight...!

Day 1 in Lapland

Arriving into Enontekio in the very North of Finnish Lapland, your transfer to your hotel in Hetta will take around 15 minutes. After checking into the hotel, your representative will hold a welcome meeting.  Tonight you might  like to join one of the optional excursions (extra cost), such as a snowmobile safari , hoping to encounter the Northern Lights.   

Day 2 in Lapland

After breakfast you will head out on your first Santa safari, a 40 minute husky dog safari, followed by lunch. During the day you can also take part in the snow activities available outside, with toboggans available free of charge. Or there's plenty of family fun to be had making snowmen or enjoying a good old-fashioned snowball fight!  This evening, join a walk to the local church. After a welcome by the vicar and carols, you return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3 in Lapland

After Breakfast you will join your second safari - the one hour snowmobile adventure, followed by lunch.  A supervised childrens' snowmobile ride will be available or if you are lucky a chance to get up close to a friendly reindeer. This is followed by the highlight of the day when you board a reindeer sleigh and set off in search of Father Christmas. During a private family meeting in his cabin, each child has the chance to talk to Santa and receive a small gift. After dinner you can relax or enjoy an optional activity (extra cost).

Day 4 in Lapland

After breakfast, head outside for Family Snow Fun, or you may want to go out on an optional excursion such as ice fishing or take the chance to drive your own reindeer (extra cost). Lunch will be served at the hotel, with hot drinks available throughout the day.  Afterwards, you might like to join the indoor Christmas crafts.  This evening, enjoy a Festive Dinner and then afterwards, why not join an optional excursion (extra cost).

Day 5 in Lapland

After breakfast, it's time to checkout at 0900hrs.  Then set off on one final adventure, a Wilderness Treasure Hunt!  Alternatively, there is time for one last play in the snow or to join an optional excursion (extra cost). After lunch at the hotel, depart for Enontekio and the flight home.
